People describe the taste of soursop as a mixture of strawberry and apple with hints of citrus. It smells like pineapple and has a smooth texture inside, similar to bananas.

People also use the fruit to make drinks, ice creams and syrups. In Africa, the Caribbean, South America and south Asia (specially in Sri lanka)  much of the plants—including leaves, fruits and seeds—are used in their traditional medicines.

The fruit contains a variety of minerals, including calcium, magnesium and iron. It also contains 46.4 milligrams

(mg) of vitamin C in one cup of pulp, which is more than half the recommended daily dose for adults.

Females require 75 mg of vitamin C per day and males need 90 mg per day.
